My daughter, encourage souls to say the chaplet which I have given you.  It pleases Me to grant everything they ask of Me by saying the chaplet.

CC_TX_8_5x11 Final B September 14, 2015, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, marks the 80th Anniversary of the gift and graces of the Chaplet of Mercy.  As times in our country and throughout the world grow more dire, we hope this special anniversary will provide an opportunity for more souls to come to know and experience the power of this God-given prayer dictated by the Merciful Jesus in 1935 to a young Polish nun, St. Faustina Kowalska.

By now we hope you have had time to digest the historical perspective and significance of The Divine Mercy revelations in Part 1 of this series History Speaks Loudly.  We also hope that Part 2, The Promises of the Chaplet of Mercy has made you more aware and appreciative of all the graces made available to us by means of this simple yet highly efficacious prayer.  If so, then we hope you believe, as we do, that everyone should know about the treasures of the Chaplet of Mercy and that more of us praying it calls more and more grace down from heaven for the entire world.  Therefore, we humbly present Part 3 of this series Ways to Celebrate and Share the Good News of The Chaplet of Mercy to assist you in sharing this prayer and information with others and to help you celebrate the 80th Anniversary of this gift in some special way, however large or small.

Commit to Pray the Chaplet More Frequently

We believe that the best way to celebrate this special anniversary is to begin by making a resolution to pray the Chaplet of Mercy more frequently.  For some that may mean an attempt to pray it daily.  For others, adding an extra one or two each day, or here and there.   Many find it convenient to pray or sing the Chaplet along with Catholic television or radio at the 3:00 p.m., the Hour of Mercy, but any time is a good time to offer it up.  How about sneaking one in on the way to work, or while waiting for an appointment? Perhaps you could pick a day and time during the week to make a quick stop by a church or adoration chapel to prayer one for the sick and for those who will be dying on that day?  Ask your guardian angel to help you with your resolutions and to remind you of these words of the Lord for motivation:

By saying the chaplet you are bringing humankind closer to me.

Commit to Share the Chaplet More Frequently

As we pointed out in The Promises of the Chaplet, Jesus made it clear that the Chaplet of Mercy releases graces upon all who pray it.  In these times when so many are in need of reconciliation with God, even though they don’t often realize it, we believe it is important to celebrate 80 years of this gift by becoming more proactive in sharing it.  There are multiple ways to do this from asking people to join you in reciting the prayer such as after mass or during family gatherings, to distributing pamphlets or prayer cards, to sending emails and posting on social media with links to the prayer and your personal testimony of its rewards.  In any case, we’ve tried to make many ways easy for you by providing links below to a variety of materials and media to assist you in your evangelization efforts.  You may be taking a step out of your comfort zone, but  remember that you will be helping to make a difference for all eternity.

Even if there were a sinner most hardened, if he were to recite this chaplet only once, he would receive grace from My infinite mercy.

Ideas from a Special Event to Help You Plan Yours

By Divine Providence, we will be in Corpus Christi, Texas on personal business just a few days before the anniversary.  With the help of some friends and the welcome embrace of pastor Fr. Bob Dunn, we have been able to schedule an area wide event at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church.  The venue is ideal because the community is vibrant, the church is large and easy to find, and a statue of St. John Paul II, the Great Mercy Pope, is enshrined there.  But once we began to proceed with our plans we realized how truly special this opportunity really was.  It didn’t take long for it to dawn on us that this event will be held in the diocese of Corpus Christi, the only one in the world named for the Body & Blood of Christ, on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, in celebration of the prayer that offers the Body and Blood of Jesus, His Most Precious Blood, to the Heavenly Father.  We have no doubt that we are in store for a very blessed celebration!

As planning continues, we have been most happy to hear how the community has responded.  Many parishes are enthusiastically promoting the anniversary by posting notices in bulletins and distributing flyers.  Catholic radio is making public service announcements and email and social media invitations and notices are going out to many groups all over, some with lists of hundreds.  Those involved with ministries such as ACTS, Knights of Columbus, Legion of Mary, Divine Mercy Cenacles, Youth groups, etc. are making plans to either join us in force, or to weave some kind of commemoration of this anniversary into already scheduled activities at their home parishes, as it should be so that the entire Church may take note and give thanks.

These plans are exciting, but they are shared with you for one main reason, and that is to give you some ideas about what you may be able to do in your parish or diocese.

Our event in Corpus Christi will last two hours.  During the first hour we will be giving a 40 minute or so presentation drawing from Part 1 of this series History Speaks Loudly.  The talk will be followed by three or four powerful testimonies from local families whose lives have been transformed by devotion to the Chaplet.

The second hour will be comprised of a Holy Hour with exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament.  During this time we will be singing a few songs interspersed with readings from Part 2,  Promises of the Chaplet.  All this will lead up to the conclusion of the evening with recitation of the Chaplet followed by the Act of Consecration of the Family to The Divine Mercy.  A Eucharistic procession inside the church and having the Sacrament of Reconciliation available is always an added blessing.  All who come will receive a blessed Divine Mercy holy card,  with both the Chaplet of Mercy and the Prayer for Difficult Moments on the back.

Hopefully this will give you some ideas to help you organize some type of celebration.  Although we are still working on making our multi-media presentation available for others to utilize, it is wholly possible to plan a wonderful event without it that includes reading from the materials included here, praying the Chaplet and other activities.  Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance, get creative and hang on to your hat!

Below you will find downloadable flyers, sample bulletin announcements, and links to products and media so that you don’t have to recreate the wheel, or spend a lot of time searching for materials.  There is plenty of time to make some plans, so take a look, pray about it, and get after it.  Now is the time for mercy and we must make the most of it!

This week marks the 80th anniversary of the gift of the Chaplet of Mercy given to St. Faustina Kowalska in Poland Sept.13, 1935 when she saw and Angel, “the executor of divine wrath” about to strike the earth.  As she repeated the prayer the Angel became powerless.  The next day, Sept. 14, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross, the Lord gave her specific instructions on how to recite the prayer on a rosary.  Many promises are attached to the recitation of this prayer and thousands attest to its efficacy in times of great need.  To learn more visit the BLOG PAGE on divinemercyforamerica.org.  Jesus told St. Faustina: My daughter, encourage souls to say the chaplet which I have given you.  It pleases Me to grant everything they ask of Me by saying the chaplet.

September 13 -14, 2015, marks the 80th anniversary of the gift and graces of the Chaplet of Mercy, given by Jesus, The Divine Mercy to Saint Faustina Kowalska in Poland in 1935. This prayer was given to help appease the wrath of God, to hold off the time of justice rightly due for the sins of the world. Jesus urged Saint Faustina to pray it often, but He also urged her to encourage others to say it as well: My daughter, encourage souls to say the chaplet which I have given you. It pleases Me to grant everything they ask of Me by saying the chaplet.  By saying the chaplet you are bringing humankind closer to me.
